The usual ways, and where they stop
- A feed app such as Preview, UNUM or Later: a good grid, but a separate copy of the plan to keep in step, shown to the client by screenshot or screen recording.
- A Canva mockup: polished, and out of date the moment a post moves.
- A Notion gallery: free and shareable, but not Instagram’s shape or order, so the client approves something that is not quite their feed.
Clients approve what they see. Show them the feed itself, not a picture of it.
Setting it up for a client
- Make a planner for the client at getninecast.com/start and embed its link with /embed in the client’s Notion page.
- Connect the client’s content database and confirm the date, caption and media columns.
- Share the page with the client as you do now. They see the month as a grid.
- When they are happy, connect their accounts and turn on Auto-post.
The agency setup covers running a planner per client, and how to preview your Instagram grid in Notion covers the grid itself.
Questions that follow
How can I show my clients what their Instagram feed will look like before posting?
Put a live grid in the page you already share with them. Ninecast embeds a real Instagram grid in a client’s Notion or Airtable page, built from that client’s planned posts in Instagram’s 3:4 tiles, and it updates as you change the plan. The client opens the page and sees next month as their profile will look. No mockups, screenshots or PDFs.
Does my client need an account?
No Ninecast account. Anyone who can open the Notion or Airtable page sees the grid.
Is a Canva mockup or a feed app good enough?
For a one-off pitch, yes. For a monthly calendar, a mockup is out of date the moment a post moves, and a feed app is a second copy of the plan. A grid built from the calendar itself cannot drift from it.
Can the client ask for changes in the same place?
They can comment on the Notion or Airtable page as they do now, and you change the row. The grid follows within about a second, and if you drag one post onto another they swap dates in the calendar too.
Can it post the feed once the client is happy?
Yes. Each client’s planner has its own connected accounts and its own Auto-post switch, so nothing goes out for a client until you turn it on.
How much does it cost?
The grid preview is free, forever. Publishing is on Creator, $15 a month or $12 a month billed yearly, for 3 planners — and the free plan includes 2 posts so you can see it work first.
