Why write LinkedIn posts in Notion
Plenty of people already draft LinkedIn posts in Notion: a row per post, the text in the page, a status, a date. It is a good writing space and a poor publisher, because it is not one. On the day, the post is copied into LinkedIn by hand, and the row is left saying “Ready” long after it went out.
The draft and the published post should be the same row, not two copies that drift apart.
Setting it up, step by step
- Start a free trial at getninecast.com/start. You get a planner link.
- Paste the link into your Notion page and choose Embed.
- Connect your database and confirm which column is the title, the date, the caption and the media. Nothing has to be renamed.
- Connect LinkedIn from Settings in the grid.
- Give a row a date. When it arrives, the post goes out and its link is written into the row.
The setup guide shows each step on screen.
What a scheduled row needs
- A caption, which is the post text, up to 3,000 characters.
- Images, if you want them. One makes an image post; several make a multi-image post. Files are copied to our own storage first, because Notion’s file links expire after about an hour.
- A date, with a time if you want one; a date on its own posts at your default time in your own timezone.
Compared with the alternatives
Scheduled is built first for LinkedIn and is the stronger choice if LinkedIn is the only channel, or a company page is. NotionScheduler posts to LinkedIn among many networks. Ninecast is for a plan where LinkedIn sits beside your other platforms in one Notion or Airtable calendar, with the Instagram grid in view. They are compared in Instagram schedulers that work with Notion, and Pins are covered in scheduling Pinterest pins from Notion.
Questions that follow
Can Notion post to LinkedIn by itself?
No. Notion has no way to publish to LinkedIn or anywhere else. Ninecast reads your Notion database and publishes each row to your LinkedIn profile on its scheduled date.
What kinds of LinkedIn post can be scheduled from Notion?
Text on its own, a post with one image, or a post with several images, which LinkedIn shows as a multi-image post. Video is not supported yet; a row with a video says so instead of posting without it.
Can it post to a LinkedIn company page?
Not yet. Ninecast posts to personal LinkedIn profiles. If a company page is your main channel, a LinkedIn-first tool such as Scheduled is the better fit today.
Is there a character limit?
LinkedIn allows 3,000 characters in a post. A longer caption is trimmed to that before it is sent, rather than being refused on the day.
Can the same row go to Instagram and LinkedIn?
Yes. Ninecast publishes to Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest and TikTok, and a Platforms column decides where each row goes. Leave it empty and the row goes to every account you have connected.
Does it work with Airtable?
Yes. Ninecast reads an Airtable base the same way it reads a Notion database, so the same steps apply with a base in place of a database.
How much does it cost?
The grid preview is free, forever. Publishing is on Creator, $15 a month or $12 a month billed yearly, for 3 planners — and the free plan includes 2 posts so you can see it work first.
