Airtable and social media

How to schedule social media posts from Airtable

Keep your content calendar in Airtable, add Ninecast to the base, and each record posts on its date to every platform you connect — today Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest and TikTok. A live Instagram grid shows the feed inside the base, and each post’s link comes back into its record. No Make, no Zapier, no Buffer queue to keep in step.

Why the usual setup is three tools

Airtable is an excellent content calendar and cannot post anything. The common answer is Airtable + Make or Zapier + a scheduler such as Buffer: the automation watches for approved records and copies them into the scheduler’s queue. It works, but the schedule then lives in Buffer, a change in Airtable has to be made twice, and you maintain the automation.

If the plan lives in Airtable, the posting should too.

Setting it up, step by step

  1. Start free at getninecast.com/start. You get a planner link.
  2. In your base, open Extensions and add the Ninecast extension.
  3. Paste your planner link into the extension’s settings, choose the table and confirm the date, caption and attachment fields, then click Connect Airtable.
  4. Connect your accounts from Connect social accounts, and turn on Auto-post.
  5. Give a record a date. When it arrives, the post goes out and its link is written back.

The setup guide shows each step on screen.

What each record needs

  • Attachments: one image, several for a carousel, or a video for a Reel or a TikTok.
  • A caption, checked against each platform’s limit before the post is due.
  • A date, with a time if you want one, in your planner’s timezone.
  • Platforms (optional): leave it empty and the record goes to every connected account.

More on the Instagram side is in publishing Instagram posts from Airtable, the grid on its own is the Airtable Instagram grid preview, and if you are still choosing a tool, Airtable vs Notion for content planning compares the two.

Questions that follow

How do I schedule TikTok posts from Airtable?

Add Ninecast to your base, connect TikTok from Connect social accounts, and give each record a video (or up to 35 images for a photo post), a caption and a date. Choose the post’s TikTok settings on its card, once, and it publishes straight to your profile on its date.

How do I schedule Pinterest pins from Airtable?

Connect Pinterest in Ninecast and choose the board. Each record with an image and a date posts as a Pin, with the record’s name as the title and its caption as the description, up to five images per Pin.

Can I post LinkedIn updates automatically from Airtable?

Yes. Connect your LinkedIn in Ninecast and each record posts to your own LinkedIn feed on its date, with its caption and images, no Zapier or Make.

What is the best way to schedule social media posts from Airtable?

Use a publisher that reads your base directly, so Airtable stays the only calendar. Ninecast runs inside the base as an extension: a live Instagram grid of your records, and each record posted on its date to every platform you connect (Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest and TikTok). The usual alternative, Airtable + Make or Zapier + Buffer, is three tools and an automation to maintain.

How do I connect Instagram to Airtable to auto-post?

Add Ninecast to your base as an extension, paste your planner link into it, pick the table and confirm which field is the date, the caption and the attachments. Then connect Instagram (a Business or Creator account) from Connect social accounts, and turn on Auto-post. Each record posts on its date as a post, carousel or Reel.

Do I need Make or Zapier?

No. There are no scenarios or zaps to build, no per-task pricing, and nothing to fix when a field is renamed, because fields are matched by id rather than by name.

Do I need a paid Airtable plan?

For the extension, yes: Airtable only allows extensions on its paid plans. The publishing itself works the same as from Notion.

Can it write the results back into Airtable?

Yes. Each post’s link is written into the record, and for Instagram its likes, comments, shares, saves, reach and views too. One button creates those fields for you.

How much does it cost?

The grid preview is free, forever. Publishing is on Creator, $15 a month or $12 a month billed yearly, for 3 planners — and the free plan includes 2 posts so you can see it work first.
